PODCAST – For the second year in row, Steve and Don treat their listeners to The Sports-Casters Super Bowl Spectacular (TSCSBS), because Steve and Don feel bad that the NFL’s signature event is so scarcely covered by the media.
On this years TSCSBS, Steve and Don welcome Chris Burke from SI.COM, Kerry J. Byrne from Cold, Hard Football Facts, and Christopher Price from WEEI in Boston.
Burke joined the guys (00:22:06) live from Indianapolis and focused mainly on the Giants. He talked about the Giants pass rush, the super year from Eli Manning, and the emergence of Victor Cruz. Burke also discussed the happenings in Indianapolis including a report from radio row, a description of a replica Lucas Oil Stadium made of LEGOs, and brags about the unseasonably warm temperatures there.
Next, Kerry J. Byrne joins the guys (00:59:24) to discuss the statistical path that the Giants and the Patriots took to the Super Bowl. Kerry points out that based on their mother of all stats if the Giants win they will be the lowest champion based on his research. Kerry throws out all kinds of interesting statistical nuggets and has usual fun and casual chemistry with the guys.
The last interview of the night was the WEEI Patriots beat reporter, Christopher Price. Price obviously gives the guys a Patriots perspective (01:29:59) talking about Tom Brady’s return to the Super Bowl, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and his opportunity to dominate the Super Bowl, and why he thinks the Patriots will win.
Steve and Don share their top 10 memories from Super Bowls past and you will never guess what is at the top of Steve’s list.
The show starts with 3Things, has a book club update, and end’s with Pick4
