Tebow’s Former Coach Officially Rejoins the Patriots

The New England Patriots made it official Sunday night, announcing that the former Patriots offensive coordinator has signed on as an offensive assistant for the remainder of the season.

Josh McDaniels was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Patriots before heading to Denver as the head coach. He was the coach of the Broncos during Tim Tebow’s rookie year.

While the hiring had been expected to happen the timing is interesting as the Broncos travel to New England this weekend for a rematch with the Patriots.

New Penn State coach Bill O’Brien is staying on as the Patriots’ offensive coordinator until the end of the season and will call the plays the rest of this season.
