With USC’s Matt Barkley and Syracuse’s Ryan Nassib on the board, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opted to go with Mike Glennon as the third quarterback drafted in as many rounds.
A two year starter at North Carolina State, and the man who filled Russell Wilson’s shoes once he transfered to Wisconsin, Glennon posted 7,085 yards and 62 touchdowns in that time with a 60.4% completetion percentage over his four years.
Coach Greg Schiano has head uneasy words regarding the future of quarterback Josh Freeman, who is in the last year of his contract. After a strong first season under Schiano, it could take Freeman a trip to the playoffs to keep his job in Tampa Bay as Glennon waits in the wings.
