[VIDEO] The New Orleans Saints are gunning for a championship again, and they’ve worked hard as a team in this offseason to get ready. In spite of a four month lockout that prevented the team from even entering their facility, they got together for some intense workouts as a team anyway.
Offensive tackle Jon Stinchcomb talks about getting ready, “We spent six weeks at Tulane, with a player driven training session just trying to get ready. Obviously this has been a bizarre offseason and lockout period, but our focus on trying to put ourselves in a position to make a run for the championship hasn’t changed.”
The Saints did put in a lot of time, and had broader attendance with more than 30 teammates showing up at Tulane for the workouts. As players around the league were forced to organize their own workouts, the veteran leadership of Drew Brees on offense and Jon Vilma on defense put the Saints in a strong position in spite of not having access to the coaching staff and facilities.
Stinchcomb feels like the team is ready, and is planning to make up for the lockout with some great football this fall, “We’re going to try to hit the ground running and put on a great show for all the fans.”
