Steelers owner Art Rooney and head coach Mike Tomlin met with Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL football operations staff yesterday in New York City to get on the same page regarding the large number of calls and fines Steelers’ players have been hit with, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.
Fines have been stacking up big for Steelers’ players as they struggle to adjust to the new rules on hitting, and at the same time play the game they know. So far this season, the Steelers have been fined 13 times for more than $182,000.
Ryan Clark has been outspoken about receiving the fines and has questioned whether his team is being targeted.
A few weeks ago, Goodell met with Ndamukong Suh to discuss NFL rules and fines. Suh seemed pleased with the outcome and successfully played last Sunday without incurring a fine.
