Just as the Pittsburgh Steelers were starting to lean more heavily on their passing game, they have some injury issues at wide receiver.
Steelers WR Hines Ward appeared to suffer a concussion in Monday night’s game against the Ravens, but head coach Mike Tomlin reportedly expects him to play against the Bengals this weekend.
Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is expected to be out for a couple weeks after having his knee scoped this week.
Antonio Brown led the Steelers’ receivers this week with 5 catches for 109 yards, and Heath Miller and Mike Wallace added 73 and 68 yards respectively, as QB Ben Roethlisberger threw for 330 yards in a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
On the season, Wallace is leading all Pittsburgh receivers with 868 yards and 6 TDs, averaging over 96 yards per game. Wallace is third in the league in receiving yards and third in most 20+ yard receptions with 13 through nine games.
