Lions QB Matt Stafford revealed after Sunday’s loss to the Bears that he played through a broken index finger on his right (throwing) hand. He reportedly suffered the injury in the 2nd quarter of Week 8′s game against the Broncos. Stafford had a bye last week and wore a glove on the hand today. “It’s not bad,” Stafford said after the game.
Saints LB Jonathan Vilma has had knee surgery according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Vilma was inactive again Sunday in the Saints 26-23 overtime victory over Atlanta.
Bears LG Chris Williams had to undergo emergency wrist surgery after exiting Sunday’s game at halftime, coach Lovie Smith said, and Williams appears headed to season-ending injured reserve according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.
Chiefs QB Matt Cassel left the stadium after Sunday’s loss to the Broncos with a cast on his right hand. Beat writer Kent Babb noticed his index and middle fingers immobilized. Cassel said in the post-game press conference that he’ll be ready for Week 11.
49ers RB Frank Gore tweaked his knee near the end of the 1st half on Sunday. He played just a few snaps in the 2nd. HC Jim Harbaugh expects him to be fine for Week 11.
Broncos RB Willis McGahee suffered a hamstring injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday’s game and didn’t return. But HC John Fox said afterwards that the injury isn’t serious and that McGahee could have returned in an emergency situation.
Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno injured his knee against the Chiefs on Sunday. It’s being called a sprain, but the extent is still unknown. We should find out more on Monday.
Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin suffered shoulder and hamstring injuries during Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. He returned from the shoulder injury, but not the hamstring. According to Eagles insider Adam Caplan, Maclin “didn’t sound overly optimistic” about his chances of playing next weekend. He’s scheduled to undergo at least 1 MRI on Monday.
Bengals WR A.J. Green injured his knee on a 1st-quarter TD catch against the Steelers on Sunday. He returned for the rest of the 1st half, but then spent the 2nd on the stationary bike. Afterwards, Green described the injury as a hyperextended knee. “Yeah, definitely. I think I’ll be back,” Green said of his Week 11 status. “It doesn’t feel (like) anything serious.”
Falcons WR Julio Jones reinjured his hamstring just before halftime of Sunday’s game against the Saints. He was on the sidelines for the 2nd but never re-entered.
Bills WR Stevie Johnson left late in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys with an apparent wrist injury. HC Chan Gailey didn’t update his status after the game.
Seahawks WR Sidney Rice sustained an apparent concussion in the 3rd quarter of Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
Redskins WR Leonard Hankerson suffered a strained hip near the end of Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. Hankerson doesn’t believe the injury is serious, and he expects to be available for next weekend’s game against the Cowboys. He is scheduled for an MRI.
Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin left Sunday’s game against the Ravens with a potential concussion.
Texans TE Owen Daniels suffered a hyperextended knee but returned to Sunday’s game against the Bucs. Houston has a Week 11 bye.
Bengals CB Leon Hall suffered what’s believed to be a torn Achilles tendon during Sunday’s game against the Steelers and is expected to be out for the season.
Bills S George Wilson left in the 1st half with a stinger and didn’t return. HC Chan Gailey said after the game, though, that he expects Wilson to be fine for Week 11.
