On a surprisingly explosive offensive day for the Bills Sunday, TE Scott Chandler had to be the biggest single surprise. He scored twice among his 5 catches and totaled 63 yards. HC Chan Gailey said Tuesday that Chandler "creates something good for us in the passing game." Gailey said he was "proud" of Chandler's performance because the player works hard. Kind words all, but they fell short of effusive praise. QB Ryan Fitzatrick, on the other hand, had this to say: "He's a big guy and he creates mismatches with guys because of his size. You can put the ball almost anywhere and he has the range to get it." That sounds like the kind of target a QB likes to look for when he's in trouble or in the red zone. It's way early to call a breakout season for Chandler, who entered Sunday with 1 career catch since entering the league in 2007. It can't hurt to take a flier if you have the roster space, though.
