Chargers WR Robert Meachem reportedly had a tough time in training camp. He’s struggled picking up the offense and getting on the same page as QB Philip Rivers. Meach hasn’t fared much better in preseason action either. Through 2 games, he has just 1 catch for 7 yards. He’s only been targeted 2 other times, and both of those have resulted in INTs. In Meachem’s defense, the entire passing game has been in a rut. Rivers is averaging a mediocre 7.3 yards per attempt and has tossed just 1 TD vs. 3 INTs. In this past weekend’s game, he underthrew a wide-open Meachem deep down field. We like Meachem’s talent and his fit in this offense, but we’re expectng him to get off to a slow start. We just nudged him down our rankings, although we still like the value he presents in the 7th or 8th round of drafts.
