The Washington Redskins will host the Dallas Cowboys as the two teams meet to decide the NFC East championship in Week 17. Kickoff from FedExField on Sunday is set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
With a win, the Redskins will clinch their first NFC East title since 1999. The playoff berth would be the team’s first since 2007. The Redskins can also clinch a playoff spot with combined losses by the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings in Week 17.
This may be one of the more highly anticipated games in the history of FedEx Field. It’s a match-up that has all the makings of what should be an epic football game. The fans are pumped and the energy level is insane, already. Redskins Nation has waited years for a game this significant and winning it would mean a lot to the fan base.
So, I sought to the worldwide phenomenon known as Twitter, to find some of the best game-plans Redskins Nation has to offer. The question I posed was – “What do you think the Redskins have to do in order to beat the Cowboys on Sunday?”
Here’s some of the top responses:
@manny_ppi don’t turn the ball over and cause 2 or more turnovers. I think that happens everything else falls into place for us

@manny_ppi The Number one thing we can do is Win the Turnover battle.

@manny_ppi They need to be able to run the ball proficiently on offense, and cover in the secondary on defense.

@manny_ppi Skins have too keep doing what they’ve done. Control the clock with the run and that sets up play action. Force turnovers as well

@manny_ppi Adapt, Alter, and Confuse. Now would be a great time to see a new wrinkle to this offense.Go for Dallas’ throat at the start.

@manny_ppi Redskins have to control the time of possession with the running game…attack them thru the middle w/passes..LB’s weak

@manny_ppi we need to minimize Dez Bryant impact and stop the run if we do that and control the clock we win the division #HTTR

@manny_ppi redskins have to make Murray a non factor and make romo beat them and Morris has gotta get going and @rgiii will do what he does
— Robbie Reynolds (@Germanjewbear) December 27, 2012
@manny_ppi I think one thing that will help is the crowd noise. I have a feeling it’s gonna throw romo and his offense off.

Those look like winning formulas. Now all the Redskins have to do is go out and seize the opportunity in pursuit of an NFC East Championship.
