Record Prices for Super Bowl Ads

Sports Business Journal is reporting that CBS has sold 80 percent of the Super Bowl’s game inventory and is moving into the summer with only a few spots left to sell.

The asking price by CBS is reportedly  a record-high $3.8 million per 30-second spot for the game.  The Super Bow has set U.S. television viewership records for the past three years.

A good portion of the inventory moved in the recent weeks.

“The game has moved early,” said John Bogusz, executive vice president of sales and marketing for CBS Sports. “We’re certainly well ahead of where we were three years ago [the last time CBS carried the game].“
