Praying for Peace and Experiencing Results
Hi Faith-writers, I thank God for another opportunity to share HIS Word with you on the topic of Prayer. We are still talking about all the Prayers that the Apostle Paul shared in his 14 Letters in the New Testament that we must be aware of and begin to experience the blessings that are available to us so we may Pray (or talk to God) in the same manner.
Remember, the Apostle Paul was sent to the Gentiles (that’s us) to teach us how to live a Christian Lifestyle serving God on earth. So Paul made it his business to inform us about everything we need to know about Prayer, Worship, Living Holy, Operating in Power, Being led by the Holy Spirit, Operating in the Gifts of the Spirit, Developing the Fruits of the Spirit, Operating in 4 Dimensions of Grace, and so much more… I believe if we continue to read the New Testament over and over all these concepts of Faith will produce Faith in us to practically apply all that Paul had shared with us. This is why I share a lot of testimony along with these teachings.
Paul’s teaching of Prayer for Peace
Paul shared an awesome teaching on Praying for PEACE and PRACTICALLY EXPERIENCING IT! Allow me to share these Scriptures with you;
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (v. 6)
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (v. 7)
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. (v. 8)
The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (v. 9) (Philippians 4:6-9 NAS)
Following Instructions
This is so self-explanatory that we need very little teaching because Paul made it simple for us to experience the Peace of God in our lives. Allow me to outline these verses.
1. We are not to be worried, fretful or anxious about our presence circumstance that we are currently experiencing.
2. We are to take the matter to God in Prayer, supplication and thanksgiving.
3. When we do God’s Divine Peace will come into our hearts and minds during the crisis if we sincerely Prayed about it and gave it over to God, so HE may grant us the wisdom to live through the most difficult situations we are faced with.
4. Then we are to meditate, reflect and think about positive things.
5. And finally, we are to look at Paul’s experiences as a reference guide of experiencing the Peace of God as Paul experienced it in the Book of Acts and throughout all his letters he wrote about the difficult encounters that he went thru (Read 2 Corinthians 11:23-28 NKJV)
6. For example, Paul and Silas was beaten and thrown in jail with their backs bleeding just for preaching the Gospel (see Acts 16:22-40 NKJV) Paul and Silas praised God and sang hymns then the Power of God came down shook the prison and broke the cuffs and chains off the prisoners. And the prison guard and his family got saved (Born-again and baptized).
7. Another example was when Paul warned the captain of the Roman guard that the ship was going to suffer damage they ignored him and when it happened it was Paul who assured them that God will rescue them and Prayed and praised God through the midst of the crisis (Acts 27:9-44 NKJV). There are many more examples that Paul left behind for us to consider in the Book of Acts that we can draw from to give us hope that if God saw Paul through these difficult circumstances then God can see us through our personal dilemmas.
Reference the Problem
We must always look in the Holy Bible and ask God to open our eyes and ears to see and hear what the Scriptures has to say about our present situation, because I can guarantee you that what we are going through it’s already written somewhere in Scripture. It could be in the Old or New Testament but it’s our job to seek it out. So we may reflect on the challenges the servants of God went through and how God brought them out of it or brought them through it and they came out victorious. So if we desire PEACE we know how to acquire it, now we must put it into action.
Are we going through problems right now? Pray, thank God for PEACE and Wisdom and HE will grant it to you when you begin to reflect on how God did it for HIS servants in the Old and New Testaments. And think about positive results coming your way and practice what Paul practiced. It truly works!
It works during abuse, divorce, financial debt, difficult children, tyrannical bosses, complicated co-workers, impossible relationships natural disasters and more…God’s PEACE can take you and me through any storm that we will encounter, Amen.
