NFL players are forced to be a bit more creative with their off season workout regimens this year as the NFLPA and NFL continue to work through the lockout. Several Green Bay Packers are exercising in different parts of the country to deal with a ban on starting their workout sessions at the team facility.
Packers cornerback Tramon Williams told the Green Bay Press-Gazette that he’d been staying in Houston closer to his wife and 6-month-old son. Running back Ryan Grant has been working out in New Jersey and has tentative plans to spend time in Florida with teammate Nick Collins later this spring/summer.
“You get more time with your family, you get more time to do what you need to do from an offseason standpoint,” Grant said of the situation.
Packers tight end Andrew Quarless said that he and other players receive email updates about the labor dispute. He stays positive about the situation, saying, “All I can do is really stay in shape and be ready when the phone rings.”
