Detroit Lions 21 Arizona Cardinals 25

Mathew Stafford had an efficient game; he was 24 out of 36 for 278 yards with two touchdown. Nate Burleson and Calvin Johnson had made some critical grabs when Stafford needed it. Johnson had broke away on a slant for a 72 yard score. The Lions defense held its ground in the late quarters. DeAndre Levy had a pick six that had change the momentum of the game. The defense started to get the Cardinals into 3rd and long downs.

They had pressure Carson Palmer a lot throughout the game. Reggie Bush was just not effective today due to an injury he sustained in the first half; in the second half he had briefly played, but fumbled on the first play in the second half. He finished the game 9 for 25 yards.

Carson Palmar had a late game winning drive; he was 22 out of 39 for 248 and a touchdown. The Cardinals had a hard time getting into the end zone, so they had to settle for 4 fields goals by Jay Feely. Defensively the Cardinals did just enough to win the game. On the go ahead touchdown the Lions were called for pass interference. The infraction had moved the ball to the one yard line. Rashard Mendenhall had punched the Cardinals to a victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars 9 Oakland Raiders 19

The Oakland Raiders had came into the game with a plan; the plan was to attack the Jaguars with their running attack. Both Darren McFadden and Terrelle Pryor had rushed on the ground for huge gains. Pryor was 15 0f 24 for 126. He has been improved with standing tall in the pocket and delivering crisp throws that his receivers can catch. Marcel Reece had capped a 11 yard scamper to give the Raiders their first victory.

The inconsistency of the receivers with dropping passes have been hurting the Jags. The Jags were only 2 minutes away with becoming the first team since the Tampa Bucs and the Oakland Raiders in (2006) with not scoring a touchdown in their two games. Chad Henne had a decent game; he was 25 0f 38 for 248 and a touchdown. Their are many concerns within this organization. Is it the coaching problems or is it the lack of commitment with the players? Something has to give in order for the Jags to bounce back from two disappointing games in which the offense was non existent.

Denver Broncos 41 New York Giants 23

This was the Manning Bowl for the Brothers. Peyton Manning has beaten his little brother twice before this game. Peyton looked determined to establish that he was the dominate brother. He marched down the field on the Giants secondary with ease. Peyton was just in the zone. The Giants failed to even challenge the receivers and looked very gas in the late quarters. Peyton was 30 for 43 for a total of 307 and a pair of touchdowns. The Broncos was very flawless in each of the quarters and had gotten three turnovers which was a huge factor in the victory. Trindon Holiday was the first play this season to return a punt for a td.

Eli Manning and the Giants overall have been struggling. Eli has threw nine picks in the first 2 games of the season. He was 280f 49 for 362 and a td, but it does not cut it. You can not turn the ball over that many times and expect to win a ball game. The Giants running attack was just not there. Brandon Jacobs was  brought back last week to help established some type of positive energy to take the pressure off of Eli and it has not help. B. Jacobs was 7 for only 4 yards. The Giants need to go back to the chalk board and find out what is happening to their defense. A top ten defense is now looking for answers, because they can not stop any opponents. Eli just needs to get back in rhythm and stop being hesitant.

New Orleans Saints 16 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14

It was a grueling match up between Josh Freeman and Drew Brees. Brees was 26 of 46 for 322 and 1 td. The high flying Saint’s offense was sputtering throughout the coarse of the game. Brees did throw numerous passes down the field, but it was hard for his receivers to catch them because the Bucs played tight coverage on the Saints the whole game. Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas combined for 55 yards which didn’t help the Saints at all. On the other side of the ball the defense bended but did not break. They had contained Josh Freeman and put just enough pressure on him to make him throw inconsistent passes.

Josh Freeman had a horrific game completing 9 out 22 for only 125 and a td. Freeman did not have the chance to deliver sharp passes in the pocket, most of his passes today was scrambling outside of the pocket. Freman did however have some help from Doug Martin. Martin had rushed for 144 yards and had took a little pressure off Freeman. The defense forced 3rd and outs and have continued to give their offense a chance to score. Turnovers was the Achilles heels that had killed the Bucs chances of pulling of a shocker.
