Back on the east coast, New York Giants’ Justin Tuck, Michael Boley, Prince Amukamara and Dave Tollefson have teamed up with Westfield Garden State Plaza for the 5th Annual Toy and Book Drive to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs in Garfield and Lodi & Hackensack, as well as Tuck’s own charity, Tuck’s R.U.S.H. for Literacy. This event is also on Monday, December 5, and the details are below.
Several Pittsburgh Steelers have teamed up with The Mall at Robinson, FedEx Ground, and Octagon Football to host the 10th Annual Pittsburgh Celebrity Toy Drive benefiting Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of
UPMC. Members of the Pittsburgh Steelers, including LaMarr Woodley and Ziggy Hood will lead the toy drive from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, at The Mall at Robinson. The players will sign autographs in exchange for the donation of a new, unwrapped toy ($10 or greater) to benefit Children’s Child Life Department.
The Child Life Department provides support, education and assistance to children, teens and their families who are adjusting to illness or hospitalization through programs and services appropriate for children’s developmental, emotional and educational needs. Services include Pet Friends, programs for siblings, school tutoring and much more.
“This is my fifth year doing the toy drive,” said LaMarr Woodley. “It’s one of my favorite events, as I really enjoy giving back this time of year. Ziggy and I hope to bring the kids at Children’s Hospital a brighter Holiday Season.”
