The Tight End position has become a huge part of most offenses in today football. In what was previous a position known for blocking and red zone targets, the new modern day TEs run like gazelles. Players like Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez have passed the torch to guys like Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski. This year, 2 TEs have been at the top of everyone’s rankings, Eric Ebron from North Carolina and Jace Amaro from Texas Tech. Those 2 were part of the group of 22 TEs that got their measurements taken at the NFL Combine. Ebron came in at 6’4 250 lbs with an arm length of 33 and 1/4th inches and Amaro measured in at 6’5 265 lbs, with a 34 inch arm length, and a 9 inch hand length.
Another rising TE in the draft was Troy Niklas from Notre Dame. He is looked at as more off the old school TE type in the mold of a Jason Witten style, someone who can both block and catch. Notre Dame has produced some good TEs recently, going from Anthony Fasano to John Carlson to Kyle Rudolph to Tyler Eifert last year. Niklas will continue that run. He came in at 6’6 270 lbs with a 34 and 1/8th in arm length and a 10 inch hand length.
Below is a list of all the heights, weights, arm, and hand lengths of all the Tight Ends.
