In addition to remembering U.S. Service members who have died, Memorial Day also marks the start of the summer vacation season. With that comes food, family gatherings, outdoor grilling and more food. Former Buffalo Bills and Future NFL Hall of Fame player Andre Reed has developed a great sauce to spice up your barbeque or other holiday favorites.
Over the Middle (OTM) is a Signature All purpose Sauce that Reed created as one way to keep his promise to his dad Calvin, share his enjoyment of cooking and give back to the community.
“My father, who passed away fifteen years ago, told me, ‘Son, if you have a chance to make a difference, if you can have a voice, then you’ve got to take advantage of that and make a difference,’” said Reed. “My passion for giving back combined with my father’s vision inspired the creation of OTM.”
While the sauce is great on a Buffalo favorite – chicken wings it is also good on just about everything including fish, steak and chicken (writer tested and kid approved).
For the holiday, Reed shared with ProPlayerInsiders one of his favorite recipes for cooking Salmon.
Reed played 15 seasons with the Buffalo Bills (1985-1999) and one final year with the Washington Redskins (2000). During that time he was selected to play in seven consecutive Pro Bowls (1989-1995), had four Super Bowl appearances, rewrote the Bills’ record book and added several entries in the NFL’s record book.
He is considered one of the greatest “yards after catch” receivers. Reed finished fourth all-time with 951 receptions, sixth in receiving yards with 13,198 yards and seventh all-time with 86 receiving touchdowns. Reed and Jerry Rice are the only two receivers in the history of the NFL to have thirteen 50-yard reception seasons.
