NFL 2015 Pro Bowl Teams Set

The NFL has tried to make changes to the Pro Bowl in recent years to add some excitement to the game and gain some fan inclusion. Last night was the “Fantasy style” draft to decide the rosters for the NFL 2015 Pro Bowl game that will take place January 26th at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The two day roster selection process included a day one draft of 13 players each selected by Cris Carter and Michael Irvin, which was not televised. The 13 players taken were three interior defensive lineman, three guards, two centers, one fullback, one punter, one kicker, one returner and one special team player.

So with the 1st overall pick, Cris Carter’s selection in the actual televised Pro Bowl draft, on NFL Network, was QB Andrew Luck, of the Indianapolis Colts. It was the 2nd straight year Luck was selected 1st overall in the NFL’s new fantasy style draft format. Luck finished the year with 4761 yards passing with a league leading 40 TD passes and 16 INTs with a 62% completion rate. He also added another 273 yards on the ground with three more scores. At the young age of 25, Luck has led the Colts to the playoffs for all three years of his career with each year getting deeper into the postseason. He is coming off a loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

With Michael Irvin’s 1st pick, 2nd overall, it was pretty obvious he was going to go to his Dallas Cowboys. Irvin even mentioned that is Dez Bryan was available, he would have been the pick, but with him not available to play, Irvin selected the QB from the Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo. The 34 year old Romo finished the year with 3705 yards passing and 34 TDs to go with only 9 INTs with a 70% completion rate. The Cowboys were bounced from the playoffs in the divisional round by the Green Bay Packers in a game that ended with a controversial overturned catch by Dez Bryant late in the game, on 4th down, that would have setup the Cowboys 1st and goal from inside the 5.
