In a tough fought battle for dominance in the NFC South, it went to overtime, but the New Orleans Saints outlasted the Atlanta Falcons 23-20.
Drew Brees put together another exceptional game, as he threw for 322 yards and 2 TDs. Brees had little help from the ground attack, as the Saints managed only 41 yards rushing.
The Falcons outperformed the Saints offensively, as Matt Ryan threw for 351 yards and the Falcons rushed for 138 yards as well.
The Falcons scored twice in the last five minutes to tie the game up and force overtime, once on a 20-yard TD pass from Ryan to Tony Gonzalez and finally tied the game on a 27-yard field goal with 0:04 left in regulation.
But the Saints recovered to pull out the win with a field goal about 7 minutes into overtime.
