Meetings between players and owners have ended for this week with a promise to pick things up again on Tuesday in New York City.
Executive Director of the NFLPA DeMaurice Smith said as he was leaving the meetings in Minnesota that “we’ll continue to meet next week and the goal is to get a deal done.”
As we reported at length yesterday both Smith and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell were consistent in their message about working hard to get a deal done in time to have a full season that included pre-season training.
In addition to Judge Boylan, at the meetings yesterday and today were Smith and player representatives Jeff Saturday, Domonique Foxworth, Sean Morey and Tom DePaso. For the NFL, Commissioner Roger Goodell, as well as Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, New York Giants owner John Mara and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt.
It is being reported by Albert Breer that initial meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday next week will be between Smith, Goodell and their respective staffs with the players and owners joining in for meeting scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
