The Jacksonville Jaguars announced today that the club has signed fifth-year defensive lineman Malik Jackson as an unrestricted free agent.

Jackson, 6-5, 293, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Broncos after being selected in the fifth round (137th overall) by Denver in the 2012 NFL Draft. Jackson played in all 16 regular-season games in 2014, totaling 42 tackles (33 solo). He led the Broncos with 11 tackles for loss and 15 quarterback hits, and appeared in all 16 games with five starts during his sophomore season in 2013.

The Northridge, Calif. native spent two seasons each at the University of Tennessee (2010-11) and the University of Southern California (2008-09). He played in 46 collegiate games, tallying 136 tackles (67 solo), 13 sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. As a Volunteer, Jackson earned first-team All-SEC honors following his senior season and second-team all-conference recognition at the conclusion of his junior campaign.

Jackson attended Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, Calif., and earned All-L.A. City and All-West Valley League co-Defensive MVP honors as a senior after posting 103 tackles and 14.5 sacks. His twin brother, Marquis, was an all-conference defensive end for Texas Southern University from 2010-11.
