Madden Names Bills Offensive Line As Top Protectors

Opening the season on the road in one of the most hostile stadium environments in the NFL, the offensive line of the Buffalo Bills turned in a dominating performance in helping the team to a Week 1 victory over the reigning AFC West Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Buffalo has been picked as a contender for the third annual Madden Protectors Award. The award honors the NFL’s best offensive line and will be presented during the week of Super Bowl XLVI, which will be played on February 5, 2012 in Indianapolis.

The Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award recognizes the fundamental role offensive linemen play in their teams’ success by providing consistent and reliable protection.

The NFL announced Tuesday that quarterbacks Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Buffalo Bills and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers are the finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on Sept. 8-12.
