ESPN’s Kevin Seifert believes that RB Lorenzo Booker could challenge for the Vikings’ 3rd-down role this season. RB Toby Gerhart is the favorite for the job, but Seifert notes that Booker has been "hitting the holes quicker and more decisively than Gerhart" in training camp. Booker, a 5’10, 190-pound scatback, has just 48 career carries. He does possess big-play ability but hasn’t been able to stay healthy at the NFL level. This is Adrian Peterson’s backfield, so there’s not much to go around between Booker and Gerhart.
