Well for fans at least we can hope that an end to the lockout is near. The fact that the players and the league are meeting, and expected to continue meeting, seems like a good sign.
The NFLPA and the NFL released the following joint statement today, “NFL owners and players continue to be engaged in confidential discussions before Chief Magistrate Judge Boylan. Both sides met again this week as part of ongoing court mediation. Those discussions are expected to continue.”
DeMaurice Smith, Kevin Mawae, Jeff Saturday, Mike Vrabel, Tony Richardson and Domonique Foxworth represented the players at the meeting.
Attending the meetings for the NFL were Commissioner Roger Goodell and owners Jerry Richardson (Carolina Panthers), Clark Hunt (Kansas City Chiefs), Robert Kraft (New England Patriots), John Mara (New York Giants) and Dean Spanos (San Diego Chargers).
