Eddie Lacy to Green Bay

It’s been five long years since Green Bay had a 1,000 yard rusher but that could all be over now. With the 61st pick in the NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers have selected Alabama running back Eddie Lacy.

In his only season out of the shadows of Trent Richardson (now with the Cleveland Browns) Lacy rushed his way to 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns on his way to winning a National Championship with the Crimson Tide. Many speculated he would be the first back off the board but that was not the case.

After a poor showing at his Pro Day, Lacy’s stock plumitted almost to the third round before Packers GM Ted Thompson took him just one pick before the round ended.
