Running back JUSTIN FORSETT of the Baltimore Ravens was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for games played in the 12th week of the 2014 season (November 20, 23-24), the NFL announced today.
- Forsett rushed for a 182 yards on 22 carries (8.3 average) with two touchdowns in the Ravens’ 34-27 win at New Orleans.
- His 182 yards led all NFL players in Week 12 and marked his third 100-yard performance of the season.
- In the second quarter, Forsett scored on a 13-yard touchdown run to give the Ravens a 14-7 lead. He added a 20-yard scoring run with 2:53 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Ravens a 34-20 advantage, which proved to be the winning margin.
- Forsett, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee in Week 10, is the first player in franchise history to rush for at least 100 yards and two touchdowns in consecutive games (Baltimore had a bye in Week 11).
- His 5.8 rushing average leads all NFL running backs this season, and he ranks second in the league in 10-yard rushes (32).
- In his seventh season from California, this is Forsett’s second career Player of the Week Award and second in as many games. Forsett also won the award in Week 10 prior to Baltimore’s Week 11 bye.
