Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers was injured in Monday night’s loss to the Detroit Lions, and was in and out of the game and seen limping to the locker room at one point.
Chicago Tribune reporter Vaughn McClure is reporting that Peppers suffered a sprained MCL in the game. The severity of the sprain is not yet known, but not believed to be serious and he has not yet been ruled out for next week’s game against the 1-4 Minnesota Vikings. Given the performance Adrian Peterson turned in to give the Vikings their first win last week, with 3 first quarter TDs, coach Lovie Smith is going to want Peppers on the field.
Bears fans can be hopeful that since Peppers was still able to walk on it during the game, he’ll be ready to go, but these types of injuries can be tricky and its possible that he’ll have to miss some playing time.
