Giants MLB Jonathan Goff joined teammate CB Terrell Thomas on IR with a torn ACL on Tuesday. ProFootballTalk.com reports that the team is expected to sign free agent Kawika Mitchell as a result. Rookie Greg Jones showed well enough to push Goff in camp and should be in the mix to start. Mitchell started 86 games over 7 seasons before a brief stint with the Saints last year. He spent only 2007 with the Giants and started at OLB that year. Mitchell began his career as a MLB for the Chiefs but can't be assumed the starter should he sign. Jones is probably the better IDP target in deep leagues, though OLB Michael Boley gains value with the turmoil. He's more interesting than either Jones or Mitchell.
