The Jets have released WR Jerricho Cotchery. They were looking to trade him, but were never going to find a taker for a 29-year-old coming off back surgery. Cotch will likely need to settle for a 1-year, prove-it deal and is unlikely to be a fantasy factor this year. Meanwhile, we’ve heard that the Jets are closing in on signing free-agent WR Derrick Mason.
