Jamaal Charles placed on IR with torn ACL

The Chiefs have confirmed that RB Jamaal Charles suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Lions.  He's been placed on IR, ending his season.  With the injury occurring in September, Charles should be back in time for the start of the 2012 season.  But as an undersized back who relies on his quick-cutting ability and acceleration, there's no guarantee he returns to pre-injury form.  It'll be something to watch this coming offseason.  Meanwhile, RBs Thomas Jones, Dexter McCluster, and LeRon McClain will attempt to pick up the slack in Charles' absence.  We broke down their potential fantasy impacts in today's Free Agent Focus.
