Indianapolis Colts Host Woman’s 101 & 201 Football Clinics

The Indianapolis Colts hosted close to 100 ladies for the popular Woman’s 101 & 201 Football Clinics at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. The woman’s clinics are designed for them to develop basic and advance knowledge all about the game of football in both the classroom as well as on the field.

Pro Player Insiders Michael Johnson was on the scene and spoke with current Colts punter Pat McAfee about how he felt the Woman’s 101 clinic went.

“It’s always a lot of fun you know, you’re talking to a bunch of ladies who know more than you about your profession so it’s a lot of fun and lot of cool. Me and Mike McGlynn got a chance to talk to a lot of woman, share our story, have a little fun with them and hopefully they got something out of it as well”.

The Woman’s 101 Clinic is broken down for first time attendees and rookies new to the game of football. It is set up in the classroom to go over the basics that include football vocabulary, line ups, player positions, the basic X & O’s of route running, the ins and outs of the job that a referee does as well as giving you the rundown of how the league and the game of football work together.

The Woman’s 201 Clinic is for more advanced knowledge woman or repeat 101 attendees to learn a more hands on approach to the game as they take their newly tested skills to the field of play. They will go through various position drills such as passing, catching, kicking, running and defensive skills.

Taking the woman through these skills for both clinics were current and Alumni Colts players like Mike Prior, who went over all the player positions, Pat McAfee and Mike McGlynn coached up the woman in the 101 classroom, with Jim Disney handling the officiating duties.
