Are you a girl? Do you live in the Bay Area? Do you love to dance? Do you like football and want to get paid to (sort of) watch it?!?!?
If so, the San Francisco 49ers are looking for new cheerleaders to join their Gold Rush squad! The team will be selecting 32 of the finest Bay Area women to lead and entertain the crowd at the 49er home games this upcoming season. This season will also be the last time the 49ers will play at the legendary Candlestick Park, so anyone who gets selected for the squad is going to be a part of history!
The first round of open auditions – meaning anyone can try out – will be on Saturday April 6th at Maples Pavilion at Stanford University. Participants are required to show up at 9:30 am for registration.
Per the media release by the team:
Applicants will be required to learn a short dance combination taught by a professional choreographer and perform that routine in a group in front of a panel of judges. Applicants will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship and individual applications. At the end of the preliminary auditions, a group of finalists will be selected.
I wonder what it’s like to be a cheerleader… I mean, they have to keep smiling continuously for like 4 hours. I start to get a headache just doing that for five minutes!
