Jets insider Brian Costello says "it’s beginning to look more and more like the starting job is [Geno Smith's] to lose." Costello says the organization is "smitten" with Smith and that "there is a sense around the Jets that they want Smith to win this thing." The West Virginia product had a good showing on the field at rookie minicamp. He also held team meetings at the hotel to go over the playbook. Costello believes the Jets would like to go with Smith and David Garrard as their top-2 QBs, while trading or releasing Mark Sanchez sometime in August or early-September.
