Even Jacquizz Rogers, Atlanta’s “running back of the future” will be getting gifted three days off after they earned the NFC’s top seed. Falcons coach Mike Smith rewarded his players with this much time to rest as much as possible before they host a divisional round game in three weeks.
This is the Falcon’s second NFC South title in three years and Rodgers has been proud to be a part of it. Rogers has helped contribute to their Christmas present to Atlanta fans, which includes a 13-2 record. Rodgers shares other Christmas reflections including what he will buy his mother in his recent interview with Theresa Villano of Pro Player Insiders. Pro Player Insiders: The holidays are approaching, what do you want for Christmas?
Jacquizz Rodgers: I don’t have anything on my wish list. I am the one buying this year because of I am blessed to be in this position. I don’t know I haven’t even thought of it.
PPI: Then what are you buying your brother James (fellow Falcon and Oregon State teammate)? Or your mother?
JR: James and I don’t exchange gifts. We always give to presents to our family. My mother wants a Michael Kors purse.
PPI: What is the Rodgers family Christmas tradition?
JR: Get together as a family and have a nice meal. Every one will just come over. We will eat,have fun, maybe play cards, and just spend quality time with each other.
PPI: Will your family be coming to Atlanta for Christmas this year?
JR: No, they wont.
PPI: Well, your brother is there (playing for Falcons). You better invite him over (chuckles).
