The Miami Dolphins have recently changed their famous logo. The former logo, a Dolphin wearing a face and helmet, has been changed to a faceless dolphin that many fans believe resembles a whale.
To make matters worse, the franchise is also beginning the process of modernizing Sun Life Stadium. Just recently it was announced that the Miami Dolphins CEO, Mike Dee, would be writing a $4.8 million dollar non-refundable check to Miami-Dade County reimbursing them for their upcoming May 14th elections. These elections will determine whether the project moves forward or not.
Some individuals believe the modernization is too much for a team “under contruction” to handle, while others are ecstatic that it will produce over 4,000 jobs, pushing millions of dollars into the local economy. Mayor Gimenez agreed to the public-private partnership and is receiving praise for his efforts at reviving Miami-Dade County.
Look for big changes in the Dolphin’s franchise during the next couple of months to see what exactly will be happening to Sun Life Stadium. It will be very interesting to see whether construction will interfere with any of their upcoming home games and the parking situations at the stadium.
