The Chicago Bears defeated the Oakland Raiders 34-26 on Friday night. The Bears dominated the Raiders in the first half and led 27-3 at the break, but a strong second half from the Oakland offense kept the game close.
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was 12 of 21 for 142 yards and a touchdown. Former Raider running back Michael Bush led the Bears in touchdowns with two rushing touchdowns on only 19 yards. Matt Forte led the team in rushing yards with 109 yards from scrimmage off of only 6 attempts.
Oakland Raider starters have seen better nights as they fell behind early in the game 24-0. Quarterback Matt Flynn went 3 of 6 with two interceptions and only 19 yards. Terrelle Pryor was the Raiders’ savior coming into the game and leading Oakland to 20 points off of five drives.
Friday’s game proved that the Oakland Raiders have some improving to do if they want to become a contender in the AFC west this year. The Chicago Bears improve to 2-1 in the preseason and face the Cleveland Browns next weekend in Chicago.
