The Philadelphia Eagles are dumping DT Cullen Jenkins, who was due to make $5.5 million this season. Les Bowen of the Philly Daily News reports that the team didn't bother discussing a pay cut. That suggests the new staff deemed Jenkins a poor fit for its system. Jenkins has erportedly said he'd be interested in returning to Green Bay, where he played before signing with the Eagles.
UPDATE: The Eagles have also cut DT Mike Patterson. In addition to likely fitting the new defensive scheme poorly, Patterson has dealt with significant medical/injury issues in recent seasons. Expect the team to chase a starting NT in free agency or the draft.
