Vikings rookie Christian Ponder has beaten out Joe Webb for the team's backup QB job. Webb was actually a bit better in preseason action, but Ponder gets the nod because of his 1st-round pedigree. The important note here is that Donovan McNabb is securely locked-in as Minneosta's starter.
