The Jaguars plan on giving rookie WR Cecil Shorts a fair opportunity to win playing time this season. “He has a chance to get playing time this year, but he definitely will have to earn it,” WR coach Johnny Cox said. “It’s a process for everybody. It will depend on how much time and effort he puts into learning. It seems like his makeup will make it a short time for him.” At 6’0 and 193 pounds, Shorts has the look of a slot receiver at the NFL level. And with the Jags thin at WR, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Shorts on the field. But after playing his college ball at D III Mount Union, we doubt he’s ready to make a significant impact this season.
