Buccaneers defensive tackle, Gerald McCoy, sprained his left ankle in the first quarter of last Sunday’s 48-3 loss against the 49ers. He is now walking in an ankle boot for support. There is no clear timeline of when he will be back from the injury, but he is continuing to think of others even during this setback.
McCoy is a man who in his first NFL offseason went to Africa to make a difference and touch lives. Is it shocking he is again doing it again during his second season despite an injury? Recently, Gerald donated money in order to purchase band uniforms at Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. The students at his alma mater just received the uniforms and tried them on this week at the school.
He tweets to the students (from @Geraldini93), “Congrats to my alma mater SEHS! Thanx to @FoundationOKCPS [The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools] they received their new band uniforms. Enjoy ‘em and wear ‘em with pride! Be blessed.”
The Southeast High School band will be not only be in tune this year but looking fresh in their new royal blue and black uniforms with a pop of metallic silver. Would you expect anything less from this self-proclaimed big man, with a big heart?
