49ers beat writer Matt Maiocco reports that WR Braylon Edwards underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. It explains why HC Jim Harbaugh said that Edwards would be out a few weeks. He wasn't producing even before the injury, so Edwards can safely be dropped in all leagues.
