Bills HC Chan Gailey revealed that the team plans on using free-agent acquisition Brad Smith in a "slash" role. "I see him being used in a similar role as I used Kordell Stewart in Pittsburgh," Gailey said. "He can play some receiver and quarterback. He gives you a lot of versatility. I think eventually he will open up the playbook quite a bit. The Wildcat would be an ideal role for him to start." We were wondering if Buffalo would give Smith a chance to win the #3 WR role, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. He won’t be a fantasy factor outside of return-yardage leagues.
