I’m sorry, I’m a little confused, was Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who was let go by the team yesterday, the one to allow for Ryan Fitzpatrick (yes that Ryan Fitzpatrick) to throw for 374 on his and his brother’s defense?
Was Roman the one who doesn’t understand the basic concepts of clock and game day management in the NFL?
Yet Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula, who were embarrassed so much by the below-average football team they watched over being assembled against the Jets on Thursday night, a change just had to be made right?
I have loved everything the Pegulas have done for the city of Buffalo, but making decisions on roster and coaching moves should not be one of them.
So they fire the guy calling the plays, despite putting up 31 points, almost 300 yards passing and just under 400 yards of total offense?
Because no one circles the wagon of mediocrity like the Buffalo Bills.
This move just stinks as trying to find a scapegoat, but no one is buying it.
And now the product on the field is going to suffer even more, as it’ll take weeks to adjust to someone else calling the plays. How does this make the team better?
It doesn’t, but it takes the heat off of head coach Rex Ryan for a week, who is very much in his last season with the team.
His defense against the Jets? It allowed 493 yards, 28 first downs and allowed the Jets to score on each of their first four possessions.
When you don’t have a superstar quarterback, you need your defense to rise to the challenge to win some games and Rex hasn’t had his unit step up regularly in two seasons now.
Rex talked a big game, telling his team at the beginning of traning camp “and if it doesn’t work, I’ll be the first mother f***** that goes.”
And yet he’s still here, with the Bills sitting at 0-2 and in full panic mode in Week 2 of the season.
