Bengals’ Green is Getting the Family Timing

Each team in the NFL has conducted their own form of OTA’s and mandatory mini-camps through the past four weeks. New rules from the NFL have allowed teams to have limited practice to perform certain drills and build the chemistry that was not present during last year’s offseason… because there wasn’t one.

The main man in the new Bengals’ offense, wide receiver A.J. Green, has been taking steps to become a key leader after his stellar rookie year last season. With a year under his belt and a full offseason, he continues to grow and polish the aspects of his game that he wasn’t able to work on going into his rookie year.

During the final week of the mini-camps heading into the 2012 NFL football season, Green is optimistic for the young team in Cincinnati.  Green stated going into the final mini-camp of last week, “We’re just getting that family bonding timing.”

Timing is critical in an offense, particularly between the quarterback and receivers, and building chemistry is even more important for a young team where each player is still learning his role.  Green is steadily becoming a role model for the still-younger players on the team.

When asked about the chemistry between him and his quarterback Andy “Red Baron” Dalton, as both enter their second season, Green replied, “We just feel more confident and getting more comfortable around here.”

The Cincinnati Bengals are on the rise, on their way to becoming a contender in the always-tough AFC North, along with Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
