LAKE FOREST, IL — The Chicago Bears agreed to terms with WR Deonte Thompson on a one-year contract.
Thompson has appeared in 21 games over four season with Baltimore (2012-13), Buffalo (2014) and Chicago (2015), grabbing 17 receptions for 228 yards (13.4 avg). He also has recorded 36 kickoff returns for 999 yards (27.8 avg) on special teams.
Thompson finished his first season with the Bears in 2015, signing to the practice squad on September 22 and was elevated to the active roster on November 10. He played in seven contests, returning 14 kickoffs for 409 yards (29.2 avg) and contributed two receptions for 81 yards (40.5 avg). Thompson finished the season ranked second in the NFL in kickoff return average (min. 10 returns).
