Lance Briggs was picked 68th overall, by the Chicago Bears in the 2003 NFL Draft and has been a Bear ever since. With almost a decade of NFL play under his belt, Briggs in a line backing force to be reckoned with. His stats speak volumes. Lance has attended the Pro Bowl 7 times (most recently in 2011) and earned All Pro honors 3 different years.
The Bears showed appreciation for Briggs work in April this offseason, by giving him a 1 year extension on his contract through 2014.
On his philanthropic side, Lance uses his website to post upcoming charitable works he is involved in with his Briggs4Kidz Foundation. His non-profit raises funds to help alleviate the emotional and financial struggles of today’s poverty stricken youth. It helps the less fortunate who reside in the Chicago community,
On June 9th, he hosted football fundamentals camp for 300 boys and girls. The camp featured his NFL teammates like Brian Urlacher, Julius Peppers, Donald Butler, Seneca Wallace, Jon Beason and Antonio Garay (www.briggs55footballcamps.com).
A fun fact about Lance is he loves comics. He frequently does comic book drives for a cause and started an Offical Comic Book/Pop Culture Social Networking Site (www.Lancescomicworld.com). It’s hard to keep up with Briggs. He doesn’t seem to stop making plays as a premiere Bear and in Chicago.
