The Bears won in a dominating fashion on Monday night beating the Cowboys 34 to 18 with a huge performance from the defense, which forced 5 turnovers two in which were taken back for touchdowns by Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman. Major Wright also got into the action picking off two interceptions and so did D. J. Moore who also had a pick.
The Bears secondary is really coming into its own, and they might be the best secondary in the league in my opinion. I want to see this defense keep up this same intensity all the way to the playoffs, especially since they are leading the league in takeaways with 14.
The Bears offense had a very solid and mistake-free game in which Jay Cutler was 18 24 for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns. But a lot of credit has to go the offense line, which gave Cutler time to throw the ball.
Also, offensive coordinator Mike Tice called a good game, finally getting Devin Hester into the action with 3 catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Marshall had a big game with 7 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown. Overall it was a great performance by the offense and the rhythm definitely looked better on Monday night.
The Bears improve to 3-1, while the Cowboys fall to 2-2. The Bears face the Jaguars next week, where their opportunistic defense will go after Blaine Gabbert, who has only thrown 1 interception on the season. Matt Forte played on Monday, but wasn’t 100 percent, so we’ll see if the short week of rest can help him get back into top form.
