Beanie Wells the lead back in Arizona

Following the trade of RB Tim Hightower, Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt made it clear that Beanie Wells is the team’s lead back.  “To say this is a make or break season is a little premature,” Whiz said.  “But this is what he wanted. Clearly he’s the guy.”  Rookie RB Ryan Williams will mix in and see action on passing downs, but it sounds like Arizona will give Wells a shot to prove he’s a feature back.  His disappointing 2010 season has left a sour taste in a lot of fantasy owners’ mouths, but remember that Beanie averaged 4.5 yards per carry back in 2009.  And the Cardinals offense should be much-improved this year with the additions of QB Kevin Kolb and TE Todd Heap.  Wells is line for a bounce-back campaign.
