John Glennon of The Tennessean reports that Titans MLB Barrett Ruud has a shoulder injury that might nag him throughout the season. "It's something I'll just have to get used to probably this year," Ruud said. "I've been fighting it since preseason, but it hasn't affected me too much in the games so far." Unfortunately, active players don't tend to say things like, "Yeah, it hurts like hell and limits my range of motion at times, but this is my livelihood." Ruud only missed a little time during Sunday's game, but there's clearly room for some concern here. Any sort of recurrent injury that can sap a player of snaps obviously takes away some scoring chances. Ruud isn't toxic to fantasy owners, but there's not much to get excited about. Rookie Colin McCarthy filled in on Sunday and could be a candidate for increased playing time later in the year. Ruud is on just a 1-year contract, and McCarthy looks like the team's future at the position.
