Ashes to Beauty

Butterfly“Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants,even Esther’s feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king”
Esther 2:18
=====================================

She had an unconventional childhood. Perhaps some may have written her off at an early age. All she had was her uncle Mordecai to guide her in the formative years. As she grew, it is possible she had searching questions of what lay ahead for her. But unknown to her, all she was going through was building up the warrior in her and was shaping her into the woman of valour she would become. Eventually the day came when Esther was enthroned as queen over a nation, “…so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen…” [Esther 2:17].

Esther went from ashes to beauty. In addition, a book of the Bible was dedicated to her life. There is something special about the rise of this young woman and how God lifted her into honour, “Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants,even Esther’s feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king.” [Esther 2:18].

Your yesterday may have been a time of affliction, challenges and hard moments. But your tomorrow shall be a glorious tomorrow, “…to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…” [Isaiah 61:3]. God has bigger dreams for you than you could ever imagine for yourself, “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.” [1 Samuel 2:8].

He turns what appears unlikely into a reality, as seen in the life of Esther. In a short while, people who once knew you shall not be able to recognise you due to the honour the Lord God shall catapult you into. It may not only be a crown of ruling over a physical nation like Esther, it could be a crown of fulfillment, crown of wealth, crown of favour, crown of excellence, crown of honour, crown of uncommon joy, “Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.” [Joel 2:21]

The butterfly does not immediately emerge as a butterfly, it is created from different stages. But in the end the butterfly is eventually seen with all its magnificent and beautiful colours. Oftentimes, it can be the same with the child of God. But through the different stages, God needs your faith. He needs you to visualize the doors opening. He needs you to visualize the higher planes for you and your loved ones. He needs you to envision the unfolding of great things. Awake to the unlimited ability of our God. For with Him by our side, nothing is impossible.
